A lady's wait

She was walking her own street
She defined her ways, her cross roads
Her love waited between obligations
Her heart stood still in time

She took a hit, got run over
She had her love waiting
Everything she knew, she no longer knew
Everyone she knew, she no longer knew

A new sense of belonging, a place to call home
A home that she had searched for 2 years
For her, the wait was the only way
For her, distances became habituated

A new street unravelled
Work, friends replaced empty days
Music filled her heart, her distance from her love
Her love could wait thousand more years

And she thought she was going one step closer everyday
But, God tried her love, her steps stood still in time
Walking like a one woman army, her hands shaking
She held her own, waiting

Expectations died and passions were forgotten
But, Hope never abandoned her
After all, he who stood by her as she stood by time
Will stand through tides beyond time
